Asthma Education For Adults
The American Lung Association
headquarters recently awarded the Colorado office a capacity building grant to pilot Breathe Well, Live Well - An Asthma Education Program for Adults during fiscal year 2009.
In Colorado, 281,591 adults and 108,511 children have asthma. Asthma ranks within the top ten prevalent conditions causing limitation of activity and costs the nation $19.7 billion in healthcare costs annually.
The goal of this capacity building grant is to develop the infrastructure and effective systems for full implementation of Breathe Well Live Well (BWLW) here in Colorado, helping improve asthma management skills for adults with asthma.

School-Based Asthma Education
Open Airways for Schools is a school-based asthma management education curriculum. It works with students to identify the actions they must take to help prevent asthma episodes and empowers them to better manage their asthma.
Asthma in the Schools Resource Box
Thousands of Colorado schoolchildren have asthma. This toolkit helps schools be prepared to respond to asthma episodes and provides an ongoing management plan that reduces missed school days.
