The American Lung Association in Colorado is a well-recognized not-for-profit organization dedicated to preventing lung disease and promoting lung health.

Tobacco Disparities Manager (posted 12-23-08)
The Tobacco Disparities Manager’s primary responsibility includes management of programs, education, and outreach involving health inequities and tobacco use. Currently, the American Lung Association of Colorado (ALAC) is working with community partners to educate Latinos, African Americans and Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community members regarding second hand smoke and tobacco use. The goal of this programming is to empower these populations to become advocates of health for their community subsequently leading to sustainable policy around tobacco use and youth access to tobacco. The program includes outreach through schools, promotoras (lay health workers), peer educators, churches, community events, businesses, and media. Full job description here.
